Rotary Club of Los Angeles Foundation

Welcome Rotarians! This link is for Rotary Club members to donate to support the charitable work of the Rotary Club of Los Angeles Foundation (the “Foundation”), a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. As described in our club newsletters and in our weekly meetings, the Foundation supports charitable efforts of the Club, including a scholarship program for outstanding low-income students in Los Angeles, international aid projects, disaster relief work, and specific projects from time-to-time related to veterans, homeless families and individuals, foster children and youth, low income healthcare, and food assistance, to name a few.

When you click to make a donation, please note in the comments section of the form the particular fund to which you would like to allocate your donation. The choices are:

  1. General principal fund of the endowment - These funds are invested for long-term growth and a percentage of the assets each year (currently 4%) are used to support various charitable activities of the Foundation, including those described below, as directed by the Foundation’s board of directors.

  2. The Children’s Court fund - These funds are invested for long-term growth and a percentage of the assets each year (currently 4%) are used to assist with special needs of children under the supervision of the Children’s Court in Los Angeles County. The Children’s Court committee of the Club recommends specific grants for approval by the Foundation’s board of directors.

  3. The Scholarships fund - These funds are invested for long-term growth and a percentage of the assets each year (currently 4%) are used to help fund scholarships for outstanding low-income students in Los Angeles to attend college or a vocational school. The Scholarship committee of the Club prepares and reviews the applications for scholarships and recommends individual awards to the Foundation’s board of directors for approval.

  4. The Community Service fund (the annual community service drive) - These funds are kept in cash and generally expended within 2 years to support special focus projects that the board of directors of the Club recommends to the Foundation’s board of directors for approval. If you wish your donation to go to the Angel City Project, please also note that in the comment section.

  5. The Myanmar Water Project fund - These funds are kept in cash and generally expended within 2 years to support the construction of water wells in impoverished areas of Myanmar as recommended by the Club’s Myanmar committee to the Foundation’s board of directors for approval.

  6. The Disaster Relief fund - These funds are kept in cash and generally expended within 2 years to support disaster relief projects recommended by the Club’s board of directors to the Foundation’s board of directors for approval.
