A Hard and Hopeful Look at the Future of Los Angeles
Los Angeles County Supervisor, Janice Hahn, exhibits the same passion for public service that distinguished the career of her father, the late Supervisor Kenneth Hahn. She was first elected to the Los Angeles City Council in 2001 where she represented the 15th district spanning from the port communities of San Pedro and Wilmington through Harbor City, Harbor Gateway and Watts. She made a name for herself on the Council as a champion for working people. In 2011, Hahn won a special election to Congress. For over five years, Congresswoman Hahn represented her constituents in Washington serving on the House Homeland Security Committee, Committee on Small Business, and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. In 2016, Hahn was elected to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, following in her father’s footsteps. As Supervisor for the Fourth District, Hahn has embraced the homelessness crisis as her top priority.
